For instance, we don't expect to setup a new wikipedia site and rank better then The Real Wikipedia site. The expectations need to be very grounded and you need to compete with your competitors efforts and up the ante two fold or more.

SEO is not as simple as it sounds. You cannot just "buy" good SEO and expect to get business the next day. Unfortunately you need to compete with all those other websites offering your same type of content in the WORLD.

Most people look to have a website to show their portfolio to already engaged potential clients. You really want a website to get more potential clients, which can only happen if your site is found through google or other search engines.

Example, if you sell "designer goods" in a real shop in Malta, you ideally have your site rank well on the Maltese Search engines. If on the otherhand you have an international business looking for clients anywhere in the world, your site will need to be well ranked worldwide.
